Micro digger hire for landscaping and garden projects

4 min read

Most of our micro digger hires are garden projects: a patio coming up, a pond going in, or footings for a garden office. The 8008 CTS is built exactly for this kind of work.

Why a micro digger suits garden work

At 950 kg with a 700 mm retracted width, it goes where a bigger machine simply cannot — through the side gate, across the lawn, and into a rear garden without taking down a fence panel.

Zero tail swing means you can work tight against a wall or boundary fence without the counterweight catching, which matters enormously in a narrow terraced garden.

Typical landscaping jobs

Patio and slab lifts, including breaking out old concrete bases with a breaker attachment.

Pond and water-feature excavation, raised bed and retaining wall footings.

Land drainage and soakaway trenches, plus root and stump removal.

Levelling and reduced-dig work before laying turf, resin or block paving.

What it costs

Hire is charged per day with delivery at £1 per mile from your nearest depot (round trip). Sites 40 miles or further away carry a two-day minimum hire so the transport cost makes sense for both of us.

Add an experienced operator if you'd rather not drive it yourself — useful for one-day jobs where you want the dig done properly first time.

Plan around the weather and the spoil

Book a day either side of a hard deadline if rain is forecast — soaked clay slows everything down.

Have your skip, grab lorry or muck-away plan in place before the machine lands. Idle machine time is the biggest hidden cost on a small garden job.
